Hard at work
Well, here we are, midway through September, and the work never stops!
I recently had the pleasure of doing a maternity shoot for a close friend just one short week from her delivery. It was amazing to spend time with Paula, and have a fun afternoon shooting images of her in all her maternal glory! What a difference a week will make to her life... by this time next week, she will be home with a newborn life...
With everything being so hectic these days, it was nice to relax while taking the time to discuss various different poses, wardrobe changes, and possible two-point images (before and after shots without and with the baby), all while enjoying what was a rare beautiful day in Innisfil. Stay tuned for images of both shoots as they are made available to Paula first!
At home, there is little time to relax. The boys and I are working on pulling down walls and removing drywall and carpeting from the ensuite in preparation for the new closets to be installed. I spent the better part of two evenings designing the new ensuite in all its glory, and am very excited to finally be creating this little spot of heaven in my house! John has been hard at work replacing the siding and insulation on the back of the house, and has now moved on to the North wall. In his 'spare' time he is working on creating my new studio in the garage. It will be my new base of operations as soon as it is finished, and will allow me to book clients without having to make sure the weather is good, or that I have an alternate location should the need arise.
Here at PowerHouse Photography, the learning process never ends. Since graduating with Honours from the Digital Photography and Imaging program, I am constantly updating my skills through new courses that I find with my favourite photographers, including Molly Marie at Boudie Shorts. She is my mentor and my inspiration. She has taken Boudoir Photography to a new level, and I want to be just like her when I get younger! (I know, bad joke, but she is younger than me, as I have started my new career in photography at a later point in life!)
As we move forward into the fall, there will be several marathon Boudoir Shoots, as well as Fall sessions for family and friends. While boudoir photography is my passion, I truly enjoy taking memorable maternity, newborn, and family images as well.
Keep in touch, and look for new images of my work being posted weekly here at PowerHouse Photography!
