Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It's Off To Work I Go!
Well, it's been a long time coming...
I am shooting in the studio!
Yes, that's right, after two long years of working around schedules and injuries, the studio is finally ready for clients.
Up till now, I have been shooting on location, and from the comfort of my own bedroom. I am very fortunate that John and the boys helped me create an oasis in the master bedroom, and it is a beautiful location for shooting boudoir.
Having a studio is soooo much better!
No more do I have to kick John out of bed early so I can strip the bed and remake it with the sheets, blankets and numerous pillows for the shoot. No longer do I have to be careful not to trip over the wires that are carefully wound up and placed, but placed in my bedroom nonetheless. I can watch Tv from the comfort of my bed without having beauty dishes and strip lights in my way.
Now, I can pull the lights down from the ceiling, where they are attached to a lighting system that allows me to place them directly where I need them without worrying about wires and cords, and floor space. I can set my clients up on the beautiful chaise lounge I purchased for the sole purpose of boudoir shoots. The vanity in the studio is filled with lovely accessories such as jewellery, gloves, mirrors, and those old fashioned powder puffs. All my equipment is safely locked away in a rolling cabinet that my laptop sits upon, ready to connect to Capture 1, so I can see the work as I am taking the images.
I had wanted to be able to do a minimum of 2 shoots per week, but my first full week in the studio, I have 5 shoots. I know I am going to be exhausted, but it is one of those good exhaustions that make you smile!
I plan on having a Grand Opening in the near future, but for right now, I am just excited to be working in the PowerHouse Photography Studio, located in Utopia...
Love & Laughter,
